Doggie daze

So, we got the dog, Kona, almost two weeks ago. She’s a sweet, chocolate lab menace to anything she can get her teeth on.

Actually, we keep a good eye on her, so she hasn’t chewed anything important up yet. Her favorite objects of the oral fixation include sticks and leaves, and not treats.

She sleeps in her crate in our room, and we keep our windows open to diffuse the smell of a dog who possibly pees in the crate and basks in it while we’re at work — even though we come home regularly to let her out.

Last night, an inconsiderate neighbor was listening to everything from Chris Brown to Kenny Chesney at high volumes outside. Around 4 a.m., I swear that Kona hummed along to a country song about diamonds. I’m not kidding.

Is that the weird noise she was making? I couldn’t figure out what it was, but now that I know it was about diamonds, I’m not mad anymore.
