Mornings

I’ve been nervous in the mornings. At first I thought it was work — just general anxiety — and then I thought I was drinking too much coffee. But I’ve figured it out. It’s our morning routine.

When we eat breakfast, we watch TV. For some reason, my favorite, Jump Start on VH1, rarely makes the cut. We always watch my husband’s shows: things on the Discovery/TLC channels about trying to survive in freezing conditions (land or sea) with minimal food and crazy people or UFC cage fights. So stressful!

Plus we have a nest of birds on our roof. This morning, one of the young birds was sitting on our deck railing and tried to fly. It flew straight into the garage wall. Several times. It was excruciating to watch, but I couldn’t tear myself away.

I better toughen up, because once we have kids, mornings will be filled with screaming, pooping and crying, and I’ll reminisce about the days when I could leisurely watch TV or the little birdies before work.

it’ll be better because you’ll either be watching cartoons in the morning instead or you’ll be too tired to be stressed :)

I suggest watching Mr. Rogers in the morning… nothing is more relaxing or comforting…

Seriously… Mr. Roger’s might be renamed “All is right in the world”.
